A good swimmer must have the long arms?

The swimmers professionals are large and fitted with long arm. But this does not stop there! For a good dynamism in the water, the morphology of the whole body has its role to play.

This seems logical: the more there are big arms, more the scale (the distance between the end of his two hands, arms stretched to the horizontal) is important and the more we will seek the water far ahead and therefore better there is propels. But any the morphology of the swimmer is important. Thus, following its size, weight, the allocation of volumes in its body, densities muscle and bone, each has a buoyancy more or less good. However, more buoyancy is high, less the swimmer must beat of the feet to move forward and keep on the water.

The ideal form: a body in the drop of water!

In the ideal, to move forward as a torpedo, i.e. enjoy the best aerodynamics, it would have to be a body in shape... drop of water. And what is the closest to this form is a swimmer great (because the resistance in the water decreases as the size of the swimmer increases), with large shoulders, Long Arm, a long narrow basin (which allows him to slide on the water) and Legs relatively short (to decrease the waves of drag). If in addition it is with large feet which can make office of fins, it is still better.
